Dutton Dunwich Heritage Committee to host Doors Open One Day Self-Guided Tours of Natural Heritage Sites
Backus-Page House Museum and Agricultural Centre will be open for tours (Adults $10, Children $5) in support of Doors Open 2023 organized by the Municipality of Dutton Dunwich Heritage Committee. This is a One Day Self-Guided Tour event on October 22, 2023 between the hours of 11am to 4pm.
Doors Open is a province wide celebration of community heritage and is designed to create access, awareness and excitement about heritage. This years’ Doors Open Dutton Dunwich will be a self-guided tour of 12 natural heritage sites. The 11 sites will provide a remarkable opportunity to visit.
The tour consists of the following locations.
- Spicer Trail at John E. Pearce Provincial Park
- Storey Wetlands Trail at John E. Pearce Provincial Park
- Dutton Dunwich Conservation Area
- Southwold Earthworks
- Fingal Wildlife Management Area
- Pearce-Williams Camp
- West Elgin Nature Reserve
- Buttermilk Bog
- Hunter’s Woods
- Backyard Garden of the Harris House
- Hwy 3 Rest Area west of Wallacetown
Knowledgeable volunteers greeter will be at site to provide you with brochures, a brief historical overview, and answer any question you may have.
