Assistant to the Museum Executive Director

Backus-Page House Museum, operated by Tyrconnell Heritage Society, is looking to host a full time or part time post-secondary student beginning in September, for a 14 week work term.

Anyone studying communications, history, museum studies, tourism, or office administration is welcome to apply. The position is 35 hours a week at $18.00/hour. Duties will include visitor services and museum tours; assistance with events and administration, and some work outdoors. Depending on the skills of the chosen candidate duties may include museum collection management, online exhibit design, research and writing.  Additional tasks may include maintenance, public relations, video editing and graphic design.

Requirements – You must be a post secondary student.  Computer experience, current First Aid and CPR, current police check, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi task and strong public interaction skills. The candidate must be available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays. Tyrconnell Heritage Society operators of Backus-Page House Museum are equal opportunity employers.
