Seasonal Position

Position Responsibilities:
- Museum, barn, and grounds tours (usually in 1850’s costume)
- Front desk reception (phones, greeting visitors, tour admissions, tourism questions)
- Visitor and volunteer services
- Membership sales and fundraising
- Gift shop sales and finances
- Public relations and general tourism inquiries
- Exhibit research and development
- Event support including food booth
- Children’s programs
- Office administration
- Collections care and records administration
- Site maintenance (eg. Painting)
- General and park maintenance (bathrooms, cleaning, garbage, lawn care, gardening)
- Historical research
- Social media and weekly blog posts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram)
- Plus other duties as assigned by the Cultural Manager
Additional Info:
- All positions pay $14.25 per hour and will include working weekends, holidays, and on rare evenings
- **All summer positions are pending funding approval from Young Canada Works, Summer Experience Program, Canada Summer Jobs, and Summer Experience Program.**
Time Frame:
Shifts are normally 9am-5pm, but may change due to special museum eventsTraining & Supervision:
- All employees must attend a museum training workshop in June (date and place to be decided)
- Further training and orientation will be provided at Backus-Page House Museum on your first day of work and throughout the summer work term
- There may be an opportunity to extend the work term to the fall
