Mondays at the Museum – A look at our Collection

In August of this year, we were visited by Steve Peters, a former MPP and local historian. Not only did Mr. Peters visit, but he came with gifts to add to our collection.  The pieces that are featured here are only part of his gift to the museum.

Our summer students used these items as part of a new exhibit dedicated to Col. Thomas Talbot.

A wooden rocking chair reported to have belonged to Thomas Talbot. It is dated to about 1850.
A land deed dated 15 June 1840 giving land to Neil Campbell in Aldborough Township. It is signed by Thomas Talbot, Jeffrey Hunter and Mahlon Burwell.
A framed drawing of Talbot’s Malahide House in Port Talbot.

Even though our Museum is closed for tours, our work continues, and so do our expenses. If you are able to contribute financially by purchasing a Tyrconnell Heritage Society Membership or making a donation in any amount your support would be greatly appreciated.  Memberships – Individual $30; Couple $35; Family $40; Organization $45; Business $75; Individual Lifetime $250  Here is the link to our page at CanadaHelps http://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/tyrconnell-heritage-society/
