Weekend Highlights December 18 & 19

Welcome back! Are you ready for Christmas? Only 9 day away!!! For some this weekend might be full of last minute shopping, we’ve all been there before. But if you’ve got all your Christmas shopping out of the way and are sat back relaxing, this post might be for you. This weekend we’ve got a few events that bring the festive spirit and history knowledge. Let’s see what the community of Elgin County has to offer.

The Komoka Railway Museum is hosting a ‘Kristmas at the KRM’! Enjoy Elf-on-the Shelf scavenger hunts, holiday trains, and Santa’s Story Station- with Christmas stories, songs, and games! From 11am-12pm Saturday December 18th! This event is also participating in Komoka Kares Food Drive for The London Food Bank! So bring some non perishables and have fun! From 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday come visit Backus-Page House Museum just South of Wallacetown for a Very Victorian Christmas tour! Experience Christmas in the 1850’s with a tour of the house museum and new Agricultural Centre. Tickets are $10/adult and $5/child. Purchase some last minutes stocking stuffers, and pick up some local history books in our museum giftshop! All proceeds go towards the Tyrconnell Heritage Society a non-profit organization that operates the Backus-Page House Museum! Support local and see what your community has created!
