Weekend Highlights August 7-8

Welcome back to your weekend highlights! This weekend, something new is in the event forecast for this area, something that has a lot of people buzzing with excitement.

Say hello to the Dutton Night Market! Saturday, August 7th from 4-9pm, the Sons of Scotland Park in Dutton is home to the first annual Night Market. This event was originally created in 2019, but a slightly problematic pandemic forced the Dutton Small Business Network to rethink those plans. Sometime in June, though, they were finally given the go ahead for this event, creating a lot of buzz on social media.

Even though there is no admission fee to get into the market, that doesn’t mean don’t bring cash. Not all vendors will be able to take debit or credit, but all will take cash! Rain or shine, local artisans, makers, and small businesses will be excited to see all who turn out. In addition to all the little shops to tour, there will be live music provided by DJ Mumble, a member of DJ Alpha Productions.

If you wish to help out with the Night Market somehow, Maryjo Tait of Celtic Ridge Farms is the person to email for more info. maryjotait@yahoo.ca is how you can reach her. Their largest request is for volunteers to help set up and tear down the market.
