Welcome back! April is almost upon us and spring is here! With that being said let’s see what the first weekend of April 2022 has to bring!
Don’t miss your chance to visit Elgin County Heritage Centre’s exhibit ‘Space to Spoon’! This weekend is your last chance to view their exhibit on agriculture and how space technology play a vital role in Canadian farmers activities. Enjoy a hands on experience with interactive elements for all ages to enjoy. From 10am – 4pm support the county’s museum and learn something new!
Starting April 1st, 2022 till April 30th, 2022, ST. Thomas’s YWCA is gathering donations for ‘Get Gorgeous for Grads’. They are looking for donations of Grade 8 suits, jackets, shirts, and shoes. Plus-size dresses, dress suits, and gift cards for salons, spas, and clothing stores. What is the purpose of this event? May 16-20, 2022 the YWCA is hosting private appointments for any Elgin County Grade 8 or highschool student who may be struggling to purchase grad or prom attire. Still have that dress or suit you or a family member has only wore once sitting around the house? Don’t know what to do with it? Donate today and help the youth in our community get ready for their big day! Things to keep in mind if you plan on donating: Clothing donations must be new or gently used, no more than 5 years old and in good condition! Donations can be made to the main office of YWCA at 16 Mary St. W in St. Thomas during their business hours!
Start off April with a little bit of shopping and supporting small local businesses! Port Stanley has many boutiques all stocked with the latest spring fashion. Get it before its gone and enjoy the little port town this weekend. A perfect opportunity to head down to Port Stanley and see the changes and new businesses!
