Weekend Highlights – April 9 & 10

Welcome back! I hope you’ve been enjoying the spring weather we’ve gotten this week! Let’s hope we skip the second winter we usually get here during spring time. Without further adieu, let’s jump on in to what Elgin County has to offer this weekend!

April 10th, 2022, 11am-3pm the CASO Station is hosting CASO Market! Some vendors that will be present include; The Ice Box, Forest Therapy Elgin, Black Sombrero, Kosuma Foods, Tru Mama Style Co., Big Smokey Hot Sauce, Lipup4branden, The Whimsical Wizardry, and more!

Looking to go out and have a fun evening with friends? This Saturday Railway City Brewing Co. is hosting Suds, Songs, and Stories! Enjoy locally brewed beverages while listening to artists share their songs and the stories behind them. Featuring Jamie Warren, Jay Allen, Marshall Dane!

This Saturday April 9th from 12pm-3pm the Easter Bunny will be at St. Thomas PetSmart! Visit the store during those hours and get family pictures of your pets! You can book photo appointments by visiting PetSmart.ca. What a great way for all the pet lovers out there to get ready for the upcoming holiday!

Tired of cooking and want a quick delicious meal this weekend that will satisfy the whole family? Wayside DIning and Bar is now serving Dosa’s every Saturday and Sunday from 4:30-8:30pm! Wayside is an authentic Indian and Canadian Restaurant in Talbotville! They offer a variety of classic Canadian foods, as well as South Indian home cooked dishes! Why not relax this weekend and try a new restaurant if you haven’t visited Wayside before!

This Saturday April 9th 2022, is the 10th Annual Vimy Lecture!

Dutton-Dunwich historian, and author Blair Ferguson discusses his educational visits to local high schools to pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the Canadian armed forces and to teach today’s youth the importance of keeping the memories of veterans alive.

The Museum’s Vimy Lecture is held annually on the anniversary of the first day of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Join them in remembering Wallacetown native, Ellis Wellwood Sifton, and all those Canadians who served in the Great War; particularly those who fought at Vimy Ridge. Starting at 2:00pm, give your ears and learn about the past.
